(SMS) or also called short message service and texts messaging are a very useful tool to have on your cell phone. The reason is that this text service will work almost anywhere in the world. If you in a place where your cell phone will not get a signal to its antenna then you can still try the SMS message and get a message out.
The cell phone must receive or send a signal to a cell phone tower in order to work properly. If you have no such signal then you have no service. You cannot call out or receive calls. It is good to have this kind of service on your cell phone plan, you will be able to stay in contact with your family members, kids, and this will work when the phone will not call out in case of emergency as well if needed. You can reach your children in hard to reach places too. Much of the time, this is free or greatly discounted with plans.
Sometimes building or tunnels will interfere with the phone like subways or trains this kind of situation should not be an issue with SMS messaging. You can rest at ease that if you need to get a hold of someone you can use this service and always manage to get messages in and out on your cell phone. Especially when you cannot call out or receive the important calls, you miss.
